Ariocarpus fissuratus like high heat something I don't have since I left Phoenix AZ, they just grow slower in cooler temperatures but don't die.

Turbinicarpus flower at a young age . My Coryphantha retusa took forever to flower from seed.

Yes I was surprised when I read that many Coryphanthas can take over 8 years in cultivation to reach maturity.
From Dicht and Lüthy's Coryphantha book:
The time period from sowing to flower production
is different from one species to another.
In our experience, the fastest flowerers are
C. clavata and C. pulleineana (3–4 years).
However, many species need about 5–7 years
(e.g. C. echinoidea, C. vaupeliana, C. delaetiana,
C. nickelsiae, C. sulcata, C. neglecta),
others 8–10 years (e.g. C. ottonis, delicata,
pseudoechinus, hintoniorum) and some even
longer (e.g. C. difficilis, salinensis, poselgeriana,
robustispina, recurvata).
Other "miniatures" that may be slower than Ariocarpus: Blossfeldia, Yavia, Geohintonia, Strombocactus, Obregonia...
