The photos were taken in a Botanical Garden in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid) in November 19th this year.

It may also be Ferocactus emoryi subs. rectispinus as the young plants have slightly hooked central spines that straighten as they get larger. Ferocacti can be hard to ID as this size.

I've found a supposed Ferocactus emoryi subsp. rectispinus that looks very similar to the one I've photographed. The question is if it's a correct identificación. As you say it's not easy. Thank you anyway.
