Kalanchoe? Crassula?

If you have a succulent plant and need help identifying it, this is the place to post it.

Kalanchoe? Crassula?

Post by geotrox »

Can anyone give me a clue as to the name of the species posted below?
It has red flowers borne on upright stems, although it has gone to seed now.
Is it a Crassula or a Kalanchoe?
Cheers,
George

It reminds me of Kalanchoe rotundifolia, which at one time was considered a Crassula by the same name. Whatever it is, it needs a considerable amount of additional light.

Thanks for the name Tom!
Actually this plant was grown directly under a combination of 400W metal halide and 13W LED grow light (2000K), so lighting is not an issue here. This is actually its normal form, at least when blooming. Parent plants demonstrated the same growth form when grown in the Ohio State University Greenhouse.
