Overwatered my cordone cacti for a year, how to fix?

Post by paulg »

Hi everyone,
I planted Two shrubs near my cordone cacti last year and unfortunately, there have been adverse affects. Due to irrigation of my water hungry golden bells, two of the arms of my cordone have swelled in size and I noticed today a significant leaning of my cordone. I fear if a heavy wind comes during our rainy season when the soil is soft, it might fall over. I am moving the shrubs today and stopping all watering in that area.

Do you think these measures are enough? Or should I take drastic measures and cut one if the heavy arms off? (I really would like to avoid that but I also do not want to lose the cactus. https://ibb.co/6gQH0FQ
