Contest 20 - Aizoaceae

It's time for cactus picture contest number 20! What? Cactus picture contest? What a stupid idea! Let's do something original! A succulent picture contest!

The plants (or flower) in your entry have to be of the family Aizoaceae. I'm talking about Lithops, Aloinopsis, Conophytum, Delosperma...

The rules are the same and please post your comments in the discussion topic.

By the way, I've got something special in store for you, after this contest. What could it be?

Nice one Michiel. Please note that this is a picture of an Oophytum forest. The picture was taken in the southern most part of the Knersvlakte near Vanrhynsdorp in western South Africa.

The Oophytum nanums (Krapojies in Africaans) are the ones with the red heads. Take note that the largest of the oophytum heads is 5mm (that's correct 0.5cm) across. Note the slightly out of focus Argyroderma delaetii in the foreground and the Dactylopsis digitata on the left. Of all of the Aizoaceae that we saw in South Africa, these little red topped plants were the most unbelievable. 10 months per year, no rain at all and they survive and procreate. Just amazing.
