Its been over a week now and i just check the graft and the peyote is still on the san pedro but i doesnt seem that secure.
Does that mean it is a failure?

Only a week? Be careful not to rush it and move it about and mess with it. Give it a good month. In a week it may still be getting attached. If you move it at that point, it will have to start over.

Hmmm. I would say yes. On my first (and only) graft, I took the rubber bands off after about 10 days. It all looked great and then over the next day or so, it dried some more and flipped on its side. Luckily for me the graft took and it still lives today, but it hasn't grown any so it may only be getting enough nutrients to stay alive.

i try and take the bands/tape off after taking it out of the humidity tent. still in good humidity (70% +/-) but not high high humidity like when first grafted. this usually happens for me in 5-8 days.

and like daiv said, dont touch it or move it for a bit...it was, after all, just cut in half
