Special Contest 1

Post by DieTer-Xz »

Hi

Because of some practical difficulties, this contest is quite late.

I have decided to make this contest a special one. A competition among the last twenty (twenty-three, in this case) winners.

To reduce the number of entries, I won't include the runner-ups.

If this works out okay, after every twenty contests there will be a special contest.

You can vote on the winning pictures found here.

Voting allowed until the 28th.

Good luck everyone!

Okay, here are the results!

(I've ended the poll one day earlier because of some technical problems that seem to have appeared. Further votes wouldn't have been able to change the outcome though!)

Congratulations ... again, Dominique !

I hope you are still listening ?

And, thanks to everyone who voted. Our turnout was double what it has been.

If you didn't vote, you are missing a unique opportunity to be a show judge, without prior qualification :D :D

If you voted twice ... daiv? Wait, double = 2X ???

Gene, no double individuals, the forum doesn't allow double votes if we wanted to!

53 is quite the turnout! Sending the mass e-mail helped, but I have a feeling if 2 get sent each time, that we'll get a lot of "Take me off the list!" requests.

Dominique hasn't been on in a while. Used to be here a lot. Hope she's still growing full steam. She was our "French Connection" for a long time. Don't know if we have anyone else from there.

Hello, everyone ! What a surprise to win the contest and what a joy ! Thank you very much. I disappeared almost a year ago for a good reason : I finally found a job and in my country, at my age, it's a miracle. I'm out of home from 7:00am to 7:00pm at best and the week-ends are awfully short. But the little time I have goes to my plants. The collection has not stopped growing and is now close to a thousand plants. Since the plants won't need me much in the coming months, I'm going to try come here more often. It's where I learned most about plants and for me, it's the best forum ever. :D

Congrats Dominque, I'm glad you got your job... though you've certainly been missed around here... I thought maybe you were abducted by Aliens or something!!

Nice to have you touch base with us, and I look forward to hearing an update on your collection, but I'm also interested in hearing about your job.

Cheers, CP.

It is really interesting (and often useful) to know where members come from - would it be possible to encourage new (and indeed existing) members to fill in to their profiles at least which country they live in??

Yes, that's a good idea - It expecially helps others give cultivation tips.
