lol...i asked the same thing on an Italian astrophytum forum (astromania)...they suggested contacting Rainbow Gardens bookshop...i wouldn't have thought they'd have summer 2008 issues yet...but i haven't checked with RGBS yet.

edit: Just spoke with Helen at RGBS, she has Jan and March 2008 issues, but the rest have not arrived yet. Suggested to check back in a week or 2, as they are on order, just haven't arrived yet.

i just got it (thanks!).

It is like akoehresii but very small.

they claim this.
5 or 8 ribs
small size
flowers similar in colour to koehresii but rounded tips (like williamsii)
skin is not green like koehresii, more like fricii
seeds are also different.

worth the $ for the article, i got it in email, but im buying it anyway cause i like hard copies :)

Me too!
I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but wow, it sure is small. Don't recall what coin it was in the pic, but about the size of a silver dollar (or a Looney for you Canadians ;) )

i keep reading that many people dont really accept this specie. haven;t heard much on why, but i think there is doubt due to its new cultivation history. i am interested to see how they grow, size/morphology/reproduction etc. i was told i had to wait till spring for my seeds...i pulled a cranky when i turned off the computer

Awesome!
Look forward to progress pics :)

I think it was a recent CSSA journal (could have been BCSS) that had a follow up article and from lab results it was confirmed as a new specie.

There are a series of articles by Terry Martin in the 2008 issues of the CSSA Journal on Lophophoras, and the one you want in the final 2009 issue which I would provide a link to except it doesn't seem to be up in their index yet.
