Re: Welcome Craig Fry!
Not Craig R. Fry, I'm Craig H. Fry
It was an Ariocarpus party this weekend, they were all joining in on the fun
Look for seedling Ariocarpuses around the base of the pots, I sow them in late Spring and they grow better than in my seed raising area.
It's mostly because I sow a lot and only the hardiest survive, and I don't easily notice the many months that they take to grow big enough to poke out of the soil.
I plant the same seeds from the plant in it's pot, so I don't get them confused
The pots without seeding plants get seeds from rare plants that I can identify.
Ariocarpus fissuatus, old ones Ariocarpus bravoanus Close up of one Ariocarpus bravoanus hintonii Ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus Cute seedlings Ariocarpus kotschoubeyanus X retusus hybrid

Here is a selection of medium sized A. fissuatus llyoidii major x retusus plants
I have several more and get good seeds every year.
All four pink/purple flowering plants in a line
They have a Haworthia look of fat rounded tubercles with a nice felty strip of wool

Re: Welcome Craig Fry!
You have been my mental break these past 2 weeks craig. I have been reading posts and seeing photos every time I need to zone out a bit at work and relax. Good show of well cared plants.
Re: Welcome Craig Fry!
Hello Craig,
I too feel, that a day is a good day, whenever I do see some Ariocarpus spp. plants in bloom. Especially that huge A. fissuratus (image 0071) is a sight to behold. How old do you guess that plant is? I have a feeling, that it might be older than I am.

Re: Welcome Craig Fry!
Someone noted the Turbinicarpus alonsoi in my center table
I have a couple of old grafted plants as well,
they do look similar to Ariocarpus
This one may be starting to crest.

Re: Still can't post pictures !
Craig Fry!!! Dont give up! I dance a jig when i get the resized photo to post(i do it through a resizer app on my cell phone) Photobucket is okay if you pay for a membership but, sometimes they hide dollar signs in the code which just remove the stupid dollar signs then it will work right.
*tries again* image too large blast.... see!! still have no clue how its posting but im prettty sure Daiv taught me through this thread...https://www.cactiguide.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8
Its all Daivs fault....no really it is....
Re: Welcome Craig Fry!
Yesterday, I wrote a long article and then posted photos and then all of a sudden I lost everything.
so gave up for the day, and decided to do short posts and submit them quickly before I lose it.
We are upgrading our growing facilities, and unfortunately our web site will be closed for several months.
