If you have a cactus plant and need help identifying it, this is the place to post it.

Wild Opuntia

Post by Murph »

I dug these up from the side of the road a few days ago - there are very large specimens growing everywhere which are in flower at the moment, but i was satisfied with just taking these young plants. Does anyone know what sort of Opuntia these are?

Weird - a Euphorbia is not a cactus, yet a Pereskia is.

This could be one for Bill. One or two varieties of prickly pear were introduced to Australia many years ago and this could be a distant cousin of them. My guess would be Ficus indica, or maybe Santa Rita, but I am afraid it is a guess.
