Hi, guys and gals,
I've had this Tephrocactus articulatus var. diadematus (Spruce cone cactus) for more than three years, and has to date not bloomed. I've grown it in full sun, and partial sun, but it just will not flower. Does any one have this plant, and has it bloomed for you? I water it once a week, feed it once a month, and keep it very dry during the winter months.Image

Hi- I posted photos of the neighbor's large flowering plant a couple weeks ago. It's growing in the open, in the ground, in Phoenix. We had tons of winter rain this year and nice cool temps including some light frosts so maybe that helps?

I got it all backwards . . . I'll try watering in the winter and early spring, then keep them on the dry side during the late spring and summer months. And, thanks for those pictures, they seem to be quite happy in the ground with the dry, hot summers in Arizona. Thanks peterb.
