Flower pic of Trichocereus arboricola

Post by birdguy34 »

Here's a flower shot of Trichocereus arboricola. It's a fairly new species(1987)that was found growing as an epiphyte, that does pretty good in the ground here in No. Calif. It blooms more than any other Trichocereus I have here. Only the stem with the flower is of this species.

Thanks Daiv.
John, the flower is around 4" across and the plant would get to around 3' tall before bending over, but have found it to be a pretty good grafting stock, so it is pretty frequently getting a "haircut".

You need a fairly large hanging basket to grow it in it's normal habitat manner. :D
