to the 2009 CSSA National Convention in Tucson, Arizona to be held on April 10-15, 2009. Check out this website and be sure to click on the many links with good information and cacti pictures. Maybe I'll meet up with some CactiForum members there. http://2009.tucsoncactus.org . Cereusly

I'm planning on it. My first national convention, ever. How could I not, with Tucson practically down the street?

Yeah, that used to be a reasonable drive for me, but not now. Take lots of pics!

Sounds like a party I should attend! I'll most likely be there!

it would be cool to schedule a Cacti Guide meet and greet, sometime generally free from other scheduled activities.

I've sent an e-mail to Kevin Barber, the convention chair (also your Rainbowgardensbookshop owner) asking him about space for a get together. Their web site indicates that they may have space for just this sort of thing.

Here's Kevin's answer. Looks like a go. As soon as the Convention Schedule is finalized, we should figure out a time and book it. I think early in the week will be best so we can get to know one another.

Memory serves that the lunch breaks are pretty long, so why not use the first full day, April 11 at 12:00 noon. People can spend as long as they want and then go get some lunch. What do you all think?

Yes, you can schedule/use some of the meeting space for meetings like
that. It's exactly what we wanted to permit/promote. If you know
when (day and time) you would like to schedule this let me know and
I'll reserve the space (and make sure it's in the program and people
are told about it at registration). Otherwise you can reserve some
space when you arrive and we'll make announcements to let everyone
know when it will be.

Wow, this is a really neat idea! Thank you guys for doing this! April 2009 is far enough away that I just might be able to make it too. Looks like Northwest has a non-stop for under $300.

Hmmm now you got me thinking! :-k
