Some new additions

Post by Chicago Cactus »

Well I was rather content with my collection a week ago until I went to the local grocery store and saw some great plants. That was unusual since they never sell cactus. And for 2.50 a piece! All plants were in 4 inch pots and they were bulging out of em'. Any ideas on ID?

Mammillaria sp? With bonus fruits and buds! :D Looks like I'll have more seeds to sow this winter.

I think Andy got #3, I have a similar plant that was suggested to be E. aracnacantha - I'm thinking that none of those are Gymnos with the exception of the "weird clumper" which might be but the offsetting is strange, so high on the body. The last looks to be some sort of Echinopsis as well.

Of course I could be very wrong. :)

First one is a Notocactus, large yellow flowers, crimson stigma.
