Cutting Pups Off Mother Plant

Ok hope this aint a stupid question but when cutting a pup off the mother plant do i need to treat the open cut on the mother plant or do i just let it air dry/scar over? Should i use some kind of fungus prevenitive on the open cut? I know i need to let the pups cut end dry/scar over befour planting. This is the mom im gona take the pup from. The big pup is lose almost like i can just pluck it off without cutting.

You can just let it air dry/scar over, but dont get water on the cut area for a few days to be on the safe side.

Thanks Tony, i will let everyone know how things go as im not doing cuttings till the 21st, they are being sent to a friend in another state..
