Thats right ian! And its another Pilsocereus Pachycladus ssp Azureus.

I see nothing wrong with the cacti apart from the soil they are rooted in.

Im very sure thats poor ventilation which has caused that blacking and dicolouring.

You need to tell us something more about how you are growing this plant. Inside? Outside? How much light? How often do you water it?

It looks like the onset of rot to me.
