Agave (?) ID Needed

Agave (?) ID Needed
I'm hoping someone can tell me what this is right off the bat. I took a pup of this from a mature plant beside a shop in Tubac, AZ. I think I recall that the mature plants were about 12"-18", but I remember little else.

Agave lophantha I'd say.

I wish I could help with what it is, but I do not think it is A. lopantha. A. lopantha has some variations, but it always has light "teeth".

By 'light teeth' I assume you mean a light colered edge to the blades and the spines, not the reddish colored edge/spine in my photo?

looks like agave gentryi, I have a mature one of those that is 18" and looks just like that one
