I grow my gymnos in full sun and they reward me with thick and dense spines. The thick ones on the pflanzii are particularly attractive to me. Here are some samples

What is the blooming one in IMG_1337-768x1024.jpg (107.72 KiB)?
Thanks for your comments!
The blooming plant is mammillaria spinosissimma 'un pico' which happens to be almost spineless
Thanks, Elie! I have one! But mine has long white spines. It is quite beautiful, too, though. And I got it from a big chain store (Lowe's). Was delighted when I saw it. Even with the spines. I guess I just like that kind of mammillaria.

Its funny that you let the weeds grow .
I always pull them as soon as they show. However, my cacti were very wet at the time i put them in the greenhouse and i thought the weeds could help them dry faster. When they start to wither, i'll know the soil is completely dry

There is a very large grower in the San Fernando Valley and when I walked the nursery a few months back I was amazed at how many plants had weeds growing in them. Some were overrun with weeds.
They seem to get into everything.
Since posting the first glimpses of your greenhouse, have you got it more organized? Shelving yet?

The weeds with the yellow flowers have dandelion like seeds so they get into all pots. My worst weed is the kalanchoe mother of thousands. It’s on the roof, in every crevasse, in the garden, in the flower pots around the house... one day i’ll find one in my coffee
As for the shelving, even in the cold winter and the open greenhouse, i’m finding it very irritating to work inside in the heat. So i decided to leave all work to spring when i take down the plastic. I prefer to grow my plants in unobstructed full sun

This is poison for slugs and snails. Snails have eaten more than 100 gymnocalycium baldianum hybrid seedlings
What is the brand?
How does it work?
It kills on contact or the snail have to eat them in order to die?

Unfortunately i ripped the brand name. These are methaldehyde pellets. Slugs and snails eat them and then die. If you have a slug problem, u can sprinkle wood ash around the area you want to protect. This prevents them from crossing

On a side note, we've had storms before at temperatures hit 4 degrees before at night with no problems. This time it's gonna hit 1-2 on a clear night which means it's almost definitely gonna freeze. I better light soke heat up in the greenhouse because i have aome sensitive species:

Been so long since i posted. I took down the plastic since it was getting hot and i have no time to water. I'm relying on almost weekly rain to do the watering. Here's a recent photo
