Parodia identification

Post by ibiseremita »

I am a new member of the forum and I write from Italy: greetings to all!
I start with a request for help to identify this cactus which I believe is a Parodia but I don't know the species
Anyone have any ideas?

Maybe it's just a Parodia ottonis?

Certainly one of the Notocactus (Parodia) ottonis complex of which linkii is one.

The following article lists these as members of the P. ottonis complex.

P. ottonis, P. carambeiensis, P. gaucha, P. ibicuiensis, P. linkii, P. muricata, P. oxycostata, P. stockingeri, P. tenuicylindrica.

For those interested in Parodia in the wider sense, here is the link to the article. The plants and pictures are near the end if you scroll down.
