Sealife, Cactus and Adaptation

Post by Barefoot_Ted »

When I look at cactus, I can't help but notice that they look like many different sea creatures and plants that I have encountered.

Is there a connection?

For example, did cactus adapt to land as seas shallowed and then disappeared?

Very curious.

Don't know about my cactus looking like sea creatures :?. But if they do then you have definitely seen some odd sea creatures that can definitely inflict some pain  .

Bill take a look at these two:

Neat, huh? However Barefoot Ted, I would have to say that the similarities are not from a direct connection. I do a lot of reading on "Origins" and I know that both of the major viewpoints (natural or supernatural) do not think there's a link between cacti and the creatures of the sea.

PS. I subscribe to the supernatural explaination of origins although that's a whole other topic.

Yup, pretty neat indeed Daiv. Similarities between two completely different things can be amazing sometimes.
