Is this a San Pedro cactus (Echinopsis Pachanoi)?

If you have a cactus plant and need help identifying it, this is the place to post it.

Is this a San Pedro cactus (Echinopsis Pachanoi)?

Post by JackN »

Hi,

I have been looking for pictures for a book cover I am designing and have been having trouble correctly identifying the San Pedro cactus(Echinopsis Pachanoi).

I was hoping someone might be able to shed some light on this for me.

The picture I have uploaded claims to be a San Pedro (the tall one in the back), but I could use a second opinion.

Thanks for your help!

Well its not a good picture for identifying. You really need to see the spines and aereolas. It could be, but it could also be a number of other trichocereus sp.

It certainly could be, but can't say without a close-up.
