some strange radar returns
http://www.weather.com/news/science/rad ... 6?pageno=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; This is sorta interesting. It is ironic that I was in Flagstaff on April 30th too. lol
Here's to you, all you insidious creatures of green..er I mean cacti.
Re: some strange radar returns
I see they included the enormous fire we just had in my area. That was just a few miles from my house. I went to the fire area today and took some pics of toasted Opuntias and Dudleyas. I may post them in a different thread later since I don't want to hijack this one.
I'm now selling plants on Ebay. Check it out! Kyle's Plants

Re: some strange radar returns
yeah they had returns from the smoke from the fire around where you lived. I also have seen them show the doppler radar (sorta like the one with the bugs in it) for the fire smoke and you could see some interesting things..

Re: some strange radar returns
Here's one from right this very minute, mind you there's no rain about. All 3 streaks in the radar return are from fires.
Arrows indicate wind direction and the numbers next to them is temperature in celcius (red), windspeed in km/h(blue) and rainfall (green). I'm right at the arrow just left of the image center indicating 32C and 44km/h winds, the whole horizon facing north is just a solid mass of smoke.

His profile still shows for me. Says he visited last on the 10th of December, so I guess he's just been busy!GermanStar wrote:Where did Peter go? He is no longer listed as a member.

Re: some strange radar returns
He dropped out of sight here around September I believe.
He still shows up regularly on the Opuntiads FB page though.
