Very nice! I've never had a M. plumosa. I can't think of a valid excuse for that.

Yeah, Todd it's very nice, I haven't scored a pink flowered form yet, I keep buying them but they all turn out white-ish.

Todd,
What kind of top dressing do they have? Is it small crushed red lava rock?

Daiv - If you are refering to the red lava rock frequently found on Armstrongs nursery plants, than yes. That is where I got this. They seem to have alot of these - yellow and pink. There are two of them 10 minutes from my work and one close to home so I see their plants regularly. Decent plants for a chain in my book. Do you know who supplies them? I have always wondered. Franj - if you want one send me a PM - I'll grab one for you and also send you a peice of my S. flavopurpurea

Todd,
That red lava rock is the Trademark of Cal Cactus in Bonsall, CA. I have several pictures on the site here from his place:

http://www.cactiguide.com/piclocation_d ... sall,%20CA

He isn't a propogator, but buys flats of seedlings and then grows them on and pots them up. His name is Rod and he keeps healthy plants. I've had really good luck with those I've purchased.
