Re: Cause of stretching

Hi--

It will be interesting to see the forum's responses to your issue. A few additional details would be really helpful--soil type, watering schedule, fertilizers, environment (dry, moist, terrarium, and so on). Anything that might impact the cultivation and growth.

Re: Opuntia Conundrum

Hi, Fred,

The juncture of the new paddle coming off of the older paddle looks like it's touching the soil--am I correct? In my mind, it seems like it should be to encourage the best chance of roots. Not sure why, but instincts are suggesting that it should.

As well, a small teaspoon for digging, planting, soil placements, etc. The more unusual would be a jeweler's loupe, a hand magnifier, several types, sizes, and ...

Re: Opuntia Conundrum

Just my thoughts-- I would dry the potting mix and try the paint brush again to look for roots. Then, ... ? Bisect the currently buried paddle an inch or two above the soil line with a sharp blade and allow both to callus, then plant the top section that's trying to be viable to a reasonable depth o...

Re: Flowering synchronization

Having just 2 mature plants of a kind is not enogh to expect a synchronization even keeeping those in identical condtions. For this reason viable populations consist of bigger number of individuals. It is also always possible to have two clones if these are not from known origin so pollination betw...
