G'day ossy96,
how old it is?
Both cacti are propagated from seeds.
I sowed seeds:
Armatum-November 2003
Ornatum-October 2004

G'day keith,
Nice big cactus and well grown
I sowed many asterias seeds in 2003~2005. They are quite old. I lost many old asterias in this spring.

Hello Frank,
is there particular reason for the loss (disease, parasites, other...)?
Best regards,
Nino

G'morning Nino,
is there particular reason for the loss (disease, parasites, other...)?
All of them were rotting roots. I lost around 30 matured asterias including very good ones.
It is told the life of asterias cultivars is around 20 years. Asterias which I lost lately became a bit weak, no flowering last 2~3 years.

Turbinicarpus alonsoi related species were in flower yesterday afternoon.
T. alonsoi is a small cactus but they are quite large because of degrafted ones.
