My greenhouse
My greenhouse
It passed almost 20 years after established my greenhosue.
Some main structures are more than that because an old building was there when I moved in. I will check structures and will repair if it was necessary.

Photo 2: I modified it to a greenhouse in 2003.
Photo 3: Extension width job was carried out in 2004 which was same as current size after the job.

Re: My greenhouse
I own what is considered a starter home nowadays. It is called a Cape Cod and its footprint is just a little bit bigger than your greenhouse. That really puts it into perspective. Nice growing area.

Re: My greenhouse
The style of my home is called a Cape Cod. They were built in large numbers in the late 1940's, early 1950's for the returning servicemen from WWII, at least in this area. My own father bought a new Cape Cod in 1950, five years after he got out of the US Army Air Corps. He enlisted in 1940. He put a full dormer on the back of the house to allow two larger bedrooms on the second floor. A bathroom was installed up there in the late 1950's. My parents raised four children in theirs. I suppose the house style originated in Cape Cod, MA. Here's a search result where I learned a thing or two: https://www.moving.com/tips/what-define ... yle-homes/
Ours is a full Cape with 1.5 stories and a partial dormer on the back to allow a full bath on the second floor. The bedrooms up there have a cut off ceiling due to the steep pitch on the roof, a 10/12 pitch-just under 45 degrees. No basement, just a crawl space. Detached garage. We did raise four children in this home, just like my father. All are out on their own now with their own families. The house is perfect for us two now, no need to downsize.
Here's a photo of our home in 2008 when doing a lot of renovation work. If you look at our neighbors house, you can see that they have a double dormer, so their roof is much flatter than ours. It gives them a lot more space upstairs.
This house is 32 feet side to side (9.8 meters) by 24 feet front to back (7.3 meters)

Re: My greenhouse
G'day Jerry,
I had business trip to Ohio several times when I was young. I saw similar ones over there.
There is a house called Carifornia Bungalow constructed 1940's in here. I do not know the exact reason of called Carifornia Bungalow but it is a timer house. My house is also old, constructed in 1949. Front face is sandstone.

Re: My greenhouse
G'morning Mrs. Green
Thanks for your comment.
Since the greenhouse is hobby purpose, I planned to minimize both costs construction and running.
Roof and walls of existing building were corrigated steel sheets. I use these materisl for bench top.
Here is a dry place and water is relatively expensive. I collect all rain water over roof and use for cacti 100%.

Re: My greenhouse
Actually I built 2nd greenhouse on my backyard in 2007. The greenhouse is smaller, 5.5 m x 3.5 mm.
I built this one for matured asterias only.

Re: My greenhouse
I grow edible plants in the arched greenhouse, there are cacti in the pyramid, there is also a plant platform (hotbed?) for cacti on the left next to the pyramid. This summer, I built another greenhouse with a pitched roof, and I insulated it well.
