Thanks guys.
The grower had large specimens of both Arthro's but Jen and I had a strict budget. Besides, these take less space and I get to watch them grow into large specimens
But it was nice to see what they'll grow into.
Oh yes, when looking up the names the flowers sure caught my eye!
Indeed Tony, VERY wicked

Fantastic selection, Darryl!
That Arthrocereus is the last one needed for the guide.

Would be great to get a pic up for that - especially when it flowers.
Joel will no doubt get flowers of his melanurus when it flowers.

All Cacti are succulents, but not all succulents are Cacti

Thanks D!
If it is anything like the rondonianus counterpart, it will be much faster than you think. You could easily get flowers on that plant this summer. They are aggressive little monsters. One thing I found is that they will "drop" older stems. But as long as you have lots of new stems comming up, this doesn't really create a problem.CoronaCactus wrote: Might be awhile before it flowers though

The Winter Show - A Preview
So i figured i'd close out the year and this thread with a final picture show. I was originally going to just show some Aloe's, but seems more than just Aloe's are doing stuff
Sorry for the lack luster photo quality...i only get about 10-15 mins before sunset when i get home from work and i was trying not to use the flash.
Aloe arborescens
Aloe ciliaris
That tiny trellis got swallowed up pretty quick. Thinking of building a large one that goes up and over each window in the shape of a "T".
Aloe ferox
Aloe sp. #1
I thought this was A. mackenzii or something like that...but that name (or even close) does not exist
Aloe sp. #2
Aloe sp. #3
I think i put this up for ID last year and never did stick a label with it...doh! Need to find that thread and see whats up.
Aloe x 'Blue Elf'
Aloinopsis rubrolineata
Crassula ovata
Caralluma europea
Interesting how it seems to grow it's stems under ground or atleast under the top layer of gravel.
Cleistocactus sp.
That mystery plant again... a month ago it put out a flush of 8 flowers, today just 1
Epiphyllum
Seems like an odd time for this to bloom...?
You can see a few more buds near the bottom.
Euphorbia sp.
I don't trust that label at all!!!
But it's starting to clump up like mad.
Kalanchoe tomentosa
Some nice coloring
Lavrania marlothii
Monadenium magnificum
Mammillaria karwinskiana ssp. nejapensis
Yes, a cactus!
Pseudolithos dodsonianus
Pilosocereus pachycladus
Another cactus! and he has a new arm too.
Pachypodium saundersii
Senecio articulatus
All leafed up and no place to go...or maybe it does? Seems like an escape attempt to me!
Stapelia (Orbea) variegata
