"Cactus Friends" -Contest No. 10 (Submissions Only

Post by daiv »

OK, this cactus contest comes from the suggestion box through Harry (Hablu). The topic will be "Cacti with Animals" and can be bugs, pets, gorilla's -anything classified in the animal kingdom (Just in case -people are excluded this go around.)

I haven't yet been able to organize a succulent contest for the succulent section, but that will come eventually. For now, let's be sure our Animal posts are still cacti!

Post all your pictures for "Cactus Friends" -Contest Number 10 in this thread.

Contest will run from August 13 through August 27

You have Until August 20, 2006 to enter a picture in the contest.

Voting will be from August 21 to August 27

Please review this post for the contest rules: http://www.cactiguide.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=888

Looking forward to seeing those critters!

Here's my "Ants at the Watering Hole" on an Opuntia pad. They were working the mealy bug on the left, but stopped for a drink at the old watering hole.

Thanks Dominique and Buck for starting this one off! I was looking for a good candidate for this one, but wasn't comming up with anything. Moreover I didn't want to start this contest late so here is my entry:

Cactus Wren on a Pachycereus -taken at the Desert Botanic Garden in Arizona.

My entry is this photo of a halictid bee gathering pollen from my Mammillaria guelzowiana. I love these metallic green bees!

Hi-

I already posted this pic of a stick insect on the base of Peniocereus johnsonii, but didn't realize it could go in this contest thread.
