July 2011- Argentinian Cacti
This topic is devoted to the cactus plants that naturally grow in Argentina, many of which are widely cultivated all around the globe.

Some examples are : Gymnocalycium, Lobivia, Pyrrhocactus, Soerensia, many opuntoids like Puna, Pterocactus , Maihuenopsis, Maihuenia, Cumulopuntia...and many more.

Tephrocactus geometricus, from Fiambala (seed listed as from Rioja province, but Fiambala is in Catamrca and so are most of the Sierra de Fiambalensis).

Gymnocalycium schickendantzii (nw Argentina) going crazy last summer. Has since succumbed to rot from heavy rain this spring. :crybaby:
