Contest 63 : Subterranean cacti or succulents

Post by Jens »

February 2012-Subterranean cacti or succulents
It will be kind of tricky to make a picture of underground growth :( :D  . But give it a try. It´ll sure be worth the digging.
On the other hand it would be nice to see some sunken into the ground (before being dug up) too.

This is from the outdoor garden I used to have. I still have this plant, but in a pot now:

Peniocereus johnstonii roots, from a plant bought from Mesa Garden in 1995. Definitely ready for a bigger pot, having spiraled down to the very bottom.

This is an interesting one. I guess this is one of my better pictures showing what used to be roots on this Pachypodium succulentum
