This little fur ball is 1.5 inches (38 mm)wide and has 8 little offsets on the back side.
Forget the dog...Beware of the plants!!!

Tiny, harmless little cutie that even so can put on a show. Growing on a 2inch pot at the time of the photo.

OK, I finally figured out which one would be best. It has to be this T. pseudomacrochele minimus that I got from Craig Fry a few years back:
