Good catch CP, Contest number 12 is indeed over and GeneS has taken first. Well done Gene! (If he keeps this up we might have to handicap him.   )

I noticed that we only got 24 votes this go around. I did not send an e-mail reminder to vote. I think that I better do that for sure from now on. I got my first couple requests to be taken of the e-mail list and thought that people might not want to get the Contest e-mail reminders. In any case the fact that twice as many people vote when I send the e-mail tells me that it is worth doing.

As this has been a "learn as you go" feature on the forum, I will consider this lesson learned. We can do lots and lots more contests so perfection may be obtained some day! O:)

Well done Gene! (If he keeps this up we might have to handicap him. )
 With his photos I fear it would have to be a big handicap.

Congrats on your win GeneS, great photography as usual.

Congrats Gene! As for being removed from the email notices, I highly recommend gmail as an email service-- I think I have about 600 messages in my inbox and I'm only using 8% of my storage. They also use a wicked spam filter.

Thank you all for your kind words. It is rewarding to be appreciated for a task I willingly do for free!

But, I must make a confession of sorts 8)

This occurred about the same time that the "photography tips" thread was live and got me to thinking how to enter the contest and show some extra tips.

So, not having a really impressive columnar to show, I decided to simulate one by using some creative point of view and framing choices.

Daiv further prompted this confession when he asked where that plant was in my yard. He didn't recall ever seeing it :)

I promised to spill the truth later.

This is a picture of the same plant, including the windmill. The rest, I leave to all of you and your individual imagination. :)
