E. polygona?
They seem to vary quite a bit in how much they retain thorns.

Its not fully polygona I can tell you that much. Ive looked up all the varieties, none of them seemed to mach completely. The peduncles/thorns are generally too short, or have more of them per section.
Ive found something under cereiformis, but I am m told as a species, cultivar, a lot of the data online is erroneous.

A photo or 2 of the whole plant would be useful too.

This is the best i could do.
Im not sure what you mean by whole plant btw. Its a solitary cactiform euphorbia about 13 cm tall and 5 cm wide(maximum). It is in my possession for a couple of weeks(bought before the pandemic was declared)

I suspect an E. horrida hybrid of variant.

It reminds me quite a bit of a plant that used to be sold as Euphorbia horrida noorsveldensis. I had a couple, google it, and you will see a lot. However, it hardly matches what that plant is supposed to be. When I showed to a Euphorbia expert, he suspected it was E horrida x E heptagona. atteched is flower of mine earlier.
