It is still winter for a lot of us, and many of you may be dreaming of warmer days. Why not look back at your photgraphs that you took in summer and post the best one of a yellow flower!

Remember, along with each contest is a seperate thread for discussion and posting all your "other" pics, Click here
We also decided to extend the time for posting each month a little bit (see below)
Prize:
To the winner goes, A $10 gift certificate towards any CoronaCactus.com purchase. (Plants, tools, Pots, labels, etc.)
NOTE: For members outside of the USA non-plant prizes can only be awarded.
Deadline:
for submissions will be February 20 th at 12 o´clock midnight Central Standard Time

A little story behind this photo -- as I watched the days go by to see when the bud would pop, I figured on the 8th that the flower was still a day away. Then at about 2 p.m. it started opening. I got my "money shot" an hour later, as I was able to catch the play of light and shadow at just the right moment. The flower looks almost luminous. So many great flower photos came out of my 2012 growing season, but I think the combination of beauty and composition makes this one the best.
With that said, I have some really stiff competition here, don't I? Best of luck, everyone!

Notocactus (Parodia) leninghausii last August.
Cactus enthusiast on and off since boyhood. I have a modest collection of cacti & succulents.
